Big Bass Bonanza is the easy arcade game I keep reopening

I picked up Big Bass Bonanza expecting to poke at it once and move on. Instead it quietly became my elevator game, my waiting-room game, my one-more-cast-before-bed game. There's something about the loop that just fits the odd empty minute.

The whole thing runs on timing. You cast out, watch the water, and tap to reel in when the moment feels right. Land it clean and there's a little burst of animation and sound that's more satisfying than it has any right to be. Miss it and you shrug and cast again — no harm done.

What I appreciate most is how little it demands. One thumb, no reflex tests, no lengthy sessions. It's readable on a cracked old screen and doesn't chew through battery. Big Bass Bonanza knows exactly what kind of game it is and never tries to be more.

If you want depth or a story, look elsewhere. But as a calm, cheerful arcade filler, it earned a permanent spot on my home screen. Sometimes that's all you want from a phone game.
