About
Pocket Lap started as a group chat where four friends kept swapping mobile game recommendations. At some point we realized we were writing mini-reviews anyway, so we moved them somewhere public. That's the whole origin story — nothing corporate about it.
We focus on games that feel good on a phone: quick to start, forgiving of interruptions, and readable on a small screen. Racing and arcade titles are our home turf, but we branch into RPGs, strategy, and the odd relaxing simulator when something catches our eye.
Every game we cover gets real playtime. We don't review from trailers or store screenshots. If a game needs three hours before it clicks, we give it three hours and say so in the writeup.
We pay for the games we test out of our own pockets, and we say plainly when something isn't worth the download. That's the only rule that really matters here.
Lukas Meier — Lukas has been reviewing mobile games for the better part of a decade and still keeps a shoebox of old handheld consoles. He handles most of the racing coverage and edits everything else.
